Behind the scenes
What started as a simple marketing tool for my business quickly became something so much more.
While capturing behind-the-scenes clips during sessions, I found myself documenting the real moments happening in between the photos—the laughter, the cuddles, the silly interactions, the nervous excitement, and all the little moments that often go unnoticed.
Before long, I began turning those clips into short content-style videos and including them in client galleries. The response was overwhelming. Clients loved getting to see not only how their memories looked, but how they felt.
These videos are candid, authentic, and focused on the genuine moments that make your story unique. Think less posed video and more real-life memories preserved in motion.
Behind-the-scenes content is always completely optional and can be added to most sessions. If you’re interested, simply let me know at the time of booking or during your session.
Frequently asked questions
Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Yes! Travel is included for locations within 50 miles of my primary service area.
Lake Tahoe falls within my standard travel radius and is one of the areas I photograph most often year round.
For locations beyond 50 miles, additional travel fees may apply depending on the distance, travel time, lodging requirements, permits, or other location-specific expenses. I am also available for out-of-state travel for select sessions, elopements, weddings, and events.
. Any travel-related costs will always be discussed and agreed upon before booking, signing contracts, or paying retainers. You’ll receive all pricing details upfront so there are never any unexpected fees or surprises along the way.
If you have a dream location in mind, don’t hesitate to ask—there’s a good chance I’d love an excuse to photograph there!
Are studio fees included and do I need to bring my own props?
Yes! Studio fees are included with my Standard and Premium packages.
Props are typically included as well, unless there is something special or sentimental you’d like to incorporate that only you would have. Prop availability can also vary depending on the studio location and session type.
My go-to studio is Flaunt Creative Studio in Auburn, California, but I am fully licensed and insured to photograph at other local studios as well. Any studio-related costs, prop needs, or additional pricing will always be discussed transparently before contracts are signed or retainers are paid, so you’ll know exactly what to expect from the start.
What should we wear for our session?
You’re not alone—it’s one of the most common questions I receive!
When you book your session, be sure to ask for my Style Guide. It’s filled with tips and recommendations to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully while still feeling comfortable and true to your personality.
I generally recommend coordinating rather than matching and choosing timeless colors, textures, and pieces that complement one another. Avoiding large logos, busy patterns, and neon colors can help keep the focus on what matters most—you and your loved ones.
Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident. When you feel comfortable and like yourself, it always shines through in your photos.
How long does it take to receive the final photos?
Turnaround times vary depending on the package selected and the time of year:
• Basic Package: 2–3 weeks
• Standard Package: 3–5 weeks
• Premium Packages, Events & Weddings: 5–8 weeks
Please keep in mind that turnaround times may be longer during busy seasons, including spring, fall, and the holiday/Christmas season.
If you’re eager to share your images sooner, sneak peeks can be rushed during busy seasons for an additional $50 fee. This allows your gallery to move to the front of my editing queue and gives you a few beautiful images to enjoy while your full gallery is being completed.
